Saab in Arboga develops and delivers security-classified communication solutions for both civilian and military customers. Our systems are used in critical societal functions such as aviation, railways, and emergency services, as well as by defense authorities where high demands are placed on reliability, robustness, and security.

We are now looking for an experienced electrical designer who wants to take a key role in our design operations and contribute to technically advanced solutions with a long lifespan and significant societal value.

As an electrical designer with us, you will be an important part of a strong and cohesive team with high technical competence. You will work closely with other designers, system engineers, and production in projects ranging from early concept studies to final delivery and further development of existing products.

The role offers great technical breadth, the opportunity to influence, and space to take responsibility. For the right person, there are good opportunities to grow in both technical and leadership responsibilities over time.

Your main tasks include:

• Preparation of electrical assembly drawings and circuit diagrams
• Creation and maintenance of articles and article structures in our PLM system (IFS/Surf)
• Preparation of design documentation such as plans, specifications, instructions, and technical reports
• Participation in improvement work within method, product, and process development, including the development of instructions, checklists, and technical solutions for design and manufacturing
• Work on further development and improvement of existing products and systems
• Technical support to the sales and pre-study organization through analyses of designs based on customer and regulatory requirements
• Collaboration with other disciplines such as mechanics, systems, production, and purchasing

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced electrical designer with a strong technical interest and a good understanding of complex systems. You have the ability to understand the customer's needs and translate these into robust, quality-assured technical solutions. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, take responsibility for your deliveries, and are used to making independent decisions within your area of responsibility.

You thrive in a project-driven environment and find it easy to collaborate and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. At the same time, you have a desire to develop and contribute to the long-term improvement of the organization.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Technical education from high school, college, or university, or equivalent work experience in electrical design
• Several years of experience in electrical design and installation
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working in product or product data management systems (PDM/PLM)
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience from defense, aviation, or other security-classified industries
• Experience in project management or technical leadership
• Experience in system development or system integration
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ISO, or defense standards)

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
